Donation Auction Promotional Video

I was not entirely sure what I was getting into with this video. I had heard of and seen these unique rocking chairs before, but I had not met my subject (Dan) before the day to shoot at his workshop. He was a friendly man and I really enjoyed the process of filming with him. Oftentimes, with the Hospital, I did a lot of subject testimonials, but this video was not that. It was a promo video for the two rocking chairs Dan had made for the Diamond Derby Auction that the Hospital Foundation was hosting to raise funds for the BuildCMH Expansion Project (a $300 million new hospital building). As I interviewed Dan I quickly decided that I would make this video more of a news essay style in a similar vein to "On the Road With Steve Hartman." I was particularly proud of some of the b-roll in this project, as well as the script that I wrote to help tell Dan's story. While working with CMH, I didn't insert myself into my videos much at all, but for this exception, I thought it proved the right choice.
