Filming with a Health Care Provider

Dr. Rinkevich was a bit nervous to film a video highlighting the cardiology department. But she warmed up to filming fairly quickly. I pride myself on making my interviews low-stress and easy to do for my subjects. I was most pleased with the b-roll of this video and the images of the echocardiography that I was able to capture. It's always tricky filming in a working clinic, but the staff of the CMH-OHSU Health Cardiology Clinic were more than accommodating and made it a great experience. This video was a bit different from some of the manager videos I had done previously, in that it was with an actual medical provider, but the overall style and format proved to be surprisingly similar so editing this felt quite simple to do.

I made countless videos like this while working at Columbia Memorial Hospital. The Board of Directors wanted me to interview each and every manager in our hospital system. The idea was to have the manager of each respective department introduce themself and their department. I often asked the same few questions to each manager. I'd ask them about their challenges, successes and what they liked best about their department. The Board really enjoyed these and often looked forward to seeing two of these each month for over a year. It was a large undertaking, but one that made me efficient with my b-roll as well as good at working with very minimal kit. While not my favorite work, I was proud of the pace that I kept over the course of almost two years making videos like this for the hospital.
