Rising Empires

King of the Rockies

Getting My Name Out There

Getting to cast King of the Rockies was a major stepping stone in my commenting career. It was volunteer, but I didn't mind that since everybody was volunteering to make this tournament happen. It made for a fun trip either way. I attribute my volunteer efforts with Rising Empires a year prior to this event (as well as my work as the creator of The Extra Sheep podcast) as my foot in the door to this opportunity. It was at this event that I got to first meet a number of pro players in the Age of Empires IV community, as well as pro commentator LidaKor. He was the big name on set as someone who worked consistently with EGCTV, and I was thrilled to get to know him and make a name for myself. The event itself was an absolute blast and I was very pleased with my work. Most notable was when I had pro player PuppyPaw next to me live on set and we needed to fill some time. I began casually interviewing him as we waited for the next series to start and I was really happy with the answers he was able to give my questions. It was a neat impromptu moment that the fans really enjoyed.
