Candid Shots in Dark Lighting

Taking candid shots is always difficult to do, especially in dark lighting. To add to the difficulty, the spotlights for this shoot created a very sharp and hard contrast. It was quite the challenge to shoot such an event, but with my 50mm prime lens, I got to work moving around the venue taking as many photos as possible. The nice thing about shooting in camera raw is how forgiving it can be when in post production. I also learned on this shoot that it was okay to have some grain and noise in the image if that's what it takes to get the shot. With no control of the dim lighting I had to make the best with what I had, and I was pleased with the end results.
